This question has been bugging me since I read it about a week ago.
I just can't think of a clever and witty answer to it. :-)
And, I don't think I cna come up with a serious answer either. HOWEVER.... I think a much better question that IS answerable is - "How do you tell if a cat is truly unhappy..." thats more straightforward.
Cats are simple animals - as long as they have food and warmth, they're satisfied, and as a BIG bonus, if they have somewhere and someone to cuddle up and feel loved and safe, then maybe they're truly happy.
