Sam, Merry and baby Elliot
Just thought I'd post a quick update on Merry and Sam who seem to have adapted to the baby better than expected. Sammy keeps his distance whereas Merry will often pokes his nose in the crib to check that things are in order. He also shows concern when the baby starts crying, which is quite sweet. Otherwise, all is well. Robin and I took the decision a couple of months ago to give both cats access to the outside world during daylight hours. Our cat flap is one of those that automatically locks as soon as it gets dark (letting the cats in but not out). So far so good. And much to our surprise, neither of them spend more than an hour at most roaming outside the confines of the garden! I wonder if they will get the urge to go off wandering in the spring despite being neutered ... ??
